How to restore a Homestead web page or site from a backup copy:

1. Locate and open your backup folder for your Homestead web site.

Note: This is the backup folder that you have created. SiteBuilder does not automatically create a backup folder. For instructions on how to create a backup copy of a Homestead web site, please click here.

2. Go to: "C:\Program Files\Homestead\Homestead Personal\Homesteads\Your_Web_Site_Name" or double-click on "My Computer" on the desktop

For Homestead Gold/Silver Members:
C:\Program Files\Homestead\Homestead SiteBuilder

For Members who installed SiteBuilder as Homestead Professional Members (prior to 4/15/02):
C:\Program Files\Homestead\Homestead Professional

For Homestead Personal:
C:\Program Files\Homestead\Homestead Personal

3. In the next folder window, double-click on "C-Drive"

4. In the next folder window, double-click on "Program Files"

5. In the next folder window, double-click on "Homestead"

6. In the next folder window, double-click on "Homestead Personal"

7. In the next folder window, double-click on "Homesteads"

8. In the next folder window, double-click on the folder with the web site name

9. To restore a backup copy of a page, go to the backup folder and use the mouse to select the ".hc" file(s) for the page(s) you would like to restore.

Note:

10. On the key board press CTRL-C or right click with the mouse and select "Copy"

11. Go to your "mywebsite" folder and press CTRL-V or right click with the mouse and select "Paste".

Note: If you wish to restore a web site, select all the HC files.

12. If the restored pages use any imported files that are not currently the Homestead account (e.g. .jpgs, .wav, .class files), go to the backup folder and select the necessary files in the "Files" folder.

13. On the key board press CTRL-C or right click with the mouse and select "Copy"

14. Go to the "Files" folder inside the "mywebsite" folder and press CTRL-V or right click with the mouse and select "Paste".

15. Open the offline SiteBuilder and publish your pages.
